Concha Buika es nacida en Palma de Mallorca, Baleares, España, en 1972. De familia guineana, de la Guinea Ecuatorial creció entre gitanos. Fusiona el flamenco con el jazz, fundamentalmente y se atreve también con algunas dosis de funk y copla. Su talento musical es realmente evidente y está en ascenso su popularidad.
Estudió arte dramático en Londres y en los años noventa participó en distintas producciones como ‘Ombra’ del grupo teatral vanguardista «La Fura dels Baus» o la música de la película «Km.0». Ha compuesto canciones como ‘Up to the sky’ o ‘Loving you’ (éxitos house en Europa). Del 2000 al 2001, cantó en algunos casinos de Las Vegas: el Luxor, Harrah’s y el Gold Coast.
